What's included in the free trial?
Everything. All features are fully available for 30 days from first launch — there's no reduced "trial" version.
What does the $4.99 purchase unlock?
It permanently unlocks TextBit after the trial ends. It's a one-time purchase — there is no subscription — and includes all future updates.
I already bought TextBit. How do I restore it on another Mac?
Open the Unlock screen and choose Restore Purchases. Sign in with the same Apple Account you used to buy TextBit and your unlock will be restored.
Can TextBit really open very large files?
Yes. TextBit is built around a virtualized editor core designed to open 200–500 MB files in seconds and stay responsive while you scroll, search, and edit.
Does TextBit collect my data?
No. TextBit collects nothing — no analytics, no tracking, no accounts, and no network calls of its own. Your files never leave your Mac. See our Privacy Policy.
What are the system requirements?
macOS 14 or later. TextBit is a universal app that runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
My trial expired but I haven't purchased. Are my files safe?
Yes. Your files are untouched on disk. Once the trial ends, TextBit asks you to unlock to keep editing, but nothing you've saved is affected.
